Coupe top crack - wierd and concerned

Hi all,
I am new to the corvette community. So new in fact, Im still working on my first purchase. Ive done much research and these forums have been extremely helpful in that but, I came across a problem I could not figure out. If you look at the attached photos you can see a very prominent rectangular shaped crack forming where the center bracket of the ttop attaches to the rear top above the rear window.
A little history that may help, its a 69, the car came from arizona in 94, originally daytona yellow, and was sold to the current owner in 02. The current owner (very nice guy who i felt was of good character) said it was painted white by the prior owner and they both claimed to have no knowledge of why its cracking like this. The current owner said it was like this when he purchased and it has not gotten any worse in the 2 years and 10000 or so miles hes put on it. There is little to no rust anywhere (some light surface on the underside), no signs of any accidents or body repairs that i could tell.
If I had to guess, It looks to me like a bad bondo job cracking out where the center brace and rear cross member connect. Is the center metal and the rear fiberglass? Could anyone give me any further insite on this?

Welcome to the forum.

There's metal underneath where the crack is. I'm guessing that the connection underneath is broken.

Might try stripping the paint in that area to determine what's below. Or remove the interior trim to see if that exposes anything.
