Corvette FACTORY Electronic noise-cancellation for exhaust system?
Hello Corvette Forums; I just signed-up and here's my first question: I know Corvettes used to have some kind of electronic noise-cancellation that, supposedly, reduced exhaust noise to allow smaller, lighter mufflers than would otherwise be needed.
A) What did Chevrolet call that technology or system on a Corvette? B) Was that a standard feature or extra-cost option? C) What year or years was that available? I think I read about this being used on Corvettes in the 1980s or 1990s; but, not sure of the years. D) Why was that system discontinued by Chevrolet? I hope some others on the Forums will be interested in this topic and may know something about it. Thanks for your interest! |
I haven't heard of this, the only "electronic noise suppression I am aware of was a metal cover over the distributor and wires. This was for the radio.
It will be interesting to learn of the system you describe. Welcome from California! |
