Found another great link.......

Well, while sittin' at my desk today, I got bored and started lookin' for Vette info.

Kachow ! ;)

Check this out.....

www.idavette.net

No longer bored, I spent about an hour and a half goin' through some of the info that can be found there. :)

Just a sample of some of the info I found there....

....didn't start using the tank for the build sheets until '67.

William Durant, the founder of GM, said a wallpaper pattern he saw in a Paris hotel in 1908 inspired the bow tie logo. Supposedly, he ripped off a small piece of it and brought it back to Detroit.

The first Corvettes were actually "rolled" off the assembly line. Chevrolet was not prepared for grounding to a fiberglass body; the cars would not start.

All big block manifolds were redesigned to actually sink into the lifter valley as the hood clearance was less than in '67 and back. As such, a 1965 to 1967 big block intake manifold won't fit in a 1968 or newer Corvette with a stock hood and air cleaner.

In 1987 you could buy a Corvette without an engine installed by the factory.

1954 Oldsmobile F-88
Corvette-inspired descendant of the '53 Starfire in brown metallic with pigskin upholstery, and powered by a 250 bhp 324 V-8, the F-88 featured cone-shaped clear plastic headlamp covers and a functional hood scoop. It was strictly a dream car, since the lukewarm sales of the Corvette precluded any sports car cloning by the other GM divisions.

....and it goes on, and on, and on,.........[sm=icon_rock.gif]

You are right C3 Starship. I used the Idaho Corvette page many a time when I needed that extra filler to complete our Corvette club's newsletter.
