Gas smell 73 ray

I noticed a strong gas odor the past few days when I park the vette in the garage . I took it to someone who works on old cars and claim they found nothing as I don't have the time to work on it now . Although I have seen a small gas leak usually producing a dime size puddle the next day on the passenger side front near the wheel well to be exact . I know it could be anything from the carbon canister to a crack in the fuel lines that feed and return the gas . I believe the fuel system supply was unchanged between what 68-81 ? this has also caused a bit of a fuel clog as sometimes she is not in the mood to idol correctly any answers would be helpful

I think the suction and return gas lines are right there. Some of them have a fuel filter there also. The carbon cannister is on the other side kinda below to brake booster. Your problem could be the fuel pump which is also right there. It would be more likely a failed rubber connection hose than one of the metal lines.
I sure wouldn't drive it 'til that gets fixed!
Good luck!
Ron
