HELP Smoking cross fire

I have a 84 that will smoke bad when at high rpms. It is a white and kind of grey smoke that will run you out of the shop lol. I have around 160K miles on it now and need help to replace or fix. There is no water in the oil and no oil in the water so do you guys think It may be the rings or what could it be? If I change the engine could I use a 350 chevy with TBI and just plug the injector plugs from the cross fire in to a single TBI?

Welcome to the forum.

Is it using water? White smoke is usually associated w/ coolant getting in to the cylinders. Head gasket, cracked block, or cracked head are possibilities.

I doubt the ECM would be compatible w/ the single TBI. But I guess it doesn't cost any thing to try. :)

Ok, THANK YOU so much. I think I will just pull the cross fire and get it rebuilt in time. The 350 I have has the same sensors as the cross fire other than Single IAC plug on the 350 and duel IAC plugs on the cross fire.
