RE: OIL GAUGE
Well it definately isn't common and I am not sure you should believe the guage. But I would definately have the car checked out.

RE: OIL GAUGE
I've been having the same problem on my '85. Stuck on 80 psi.
What am I looking for when you say to get it checked out? Thanks, Michelle |
RE: OIL GAUGE
Have someone check the actual oil pressure: they can hook up a mechanical guage to the oil sending unit location and monitor oil pressure accurately, confirming your guage works, or doesn't. They will probalby tell you it doesn't, that your pressure is normal range. Then you know the guage is bad. I'd guess a bad ground or guage body but it could be the sensor - a technician who knows his or her stuff will know how to diagnose whats wrong with your guage. First thing, though is confirm it is the guage and not the engine, becuase if it is . . . ugh.
