operating temp question
 

18 months ago I purchased 07 base convertible with 8k miles...operating temp was 198 unless in slow traffic-then it would creep up. about 6 montha ago I added aluminum billet grill-op temp still at 198 but it crept up faster and sooner...removed grill-still creeps up when driving slower than 45. no warning msgs or codes. hottest its got was 217 while in very slow traffic(ac on) and I shut it off. any thoughts?

Most vettes were made to run hot from the factory. My '95 was programmed from the factory for the first fan to come on at about 220 F, second fan about 227.

I reprogrammed my ECM to have the fans kick on much sooner.
