WOW!!!

I put a K&N in my paltry LT1 today. Then I took a ride, and put the pedal to the wood:Dfor the first time since I bought this thing. Talk about havin' to take a deep breath!!!

OH MY GOODNESS![sm=gears.gif]And I thought my L98 was a strong twister. WHEW! 0 engine tweeks thus far too. Except the K&N. I can't imagine what some of you guys' machines with LS1 does!

Does the filter really power up a V8??? 12 extra HP? 15?

RE: WOW!!!

I know it does if you follow through with the cut-out mod.

RE: WOW!!!

Typically, a K&N and a new lid add only about 3-5 RWHP. But that is compared to a clean, stock, air cleaner. Compared to an old and dirty filter -- particularly some no-namebudget filter, they might produce 10-12 HP more, enough power to actually feel.

True. Mine was pretty dirty when I purchased her;)

That looks like a good idea tho'... And I already got a sabre saw and hackblade[8D]. Why not? I just got done drillin' my door panels, might as well keep right on with the hacksaw!!!

Not a problem.

Good stuff. I saw that link posted hererecently, but didn't hit it. This time I did, and thesite host said after he hacked his airbox, he couldn't tell a difference. That's a surprise to me, as it seems to have been with him. I might go there, after I fix the leak in this heap[:@]. Legs have been un-cooperative the last two days, from that hit last year.

How's the back there?

RE: WOW!!!

Thanks for askin':)

Not real good... Lot's of pain 24/7 even with the narcotics[:'(]

Attorney keeps telling me "it should be any day now" (3 years).

I would think cutting it out would HAVE to allow more air in. Therefore, better flow, etc...

Still waiting on my polished alternator so I can't even drive my baby:(

I know, I know, I could have just bought one at AdvancedAuto.

But this one LOOKED sooooo coool[8D]

Keep the wave alive[sm=icon_cheers.gif]

Unfortunately, most people do not understand what a REAL back pain is all about. Including some doctors[:-]

The only reason I can figure for me buying a new lid is that I was afraid that I would screw up the first time:D:D:D

Glad your's worked out ok[sm=icon_cheers.gif]

RE: WOW!!!

Damn Dave, didn't know you were involved in a train wreck.[:o]

Figured you didn't want to talk about it otherwise you would have elaborated.

Tried to Google the incident and couldn't come up with much:eek:

My sympathies bro...

RE: WOW!!!

As train wrecks go, it weren't so bad. Nobody killed or really seriously injured. Bent up a heck of a lot of steel though! :D
It was a rear-ender, another train's caboose unded up on top of our engine, er...uh....our engine ended up under the other train's caboose. Anyway, I think I'll remember it for a long time to come. I have a little reminder that sneeks up behind me and let's me have it, around the lower lumbar region, and C-1, 2 and 3.But hey, it's all good, I'm here. ;)( and I can drive too! :) )

When I say, "Ah ain't felt this good, in twenty years.", I don't mention, the wreck was 31 years ago. :D
