Z06 Column Lock tragedy

Hey, I am new to the forum this is my first time to login. I bought a 2002 Z06 about 6 months ago and just love it. Tonight I went to Wal-Greens and was gettin' some tire shine cause' I was about to go detail my car. When I came out the DIC said "PULL KEY WAIT 10 SECONDS." So I did! When I tried to start it again it said "SERVICE COLUMN LOCK" and would start but the wheel was locked. This happened at about 5:00 on a Sunday evening. WHAT IS WRONG WITH MY CAR?? Its still sitting at Wal-greens and I'm afraid it'll get messed with. Has anyone had this problem on the 2002 Z06's? How do I fix it? Is it hard to tow? and of course HOW MUCH IS THIS PROBLEM TO FIX?? I've only had it six months and I've already had a problem with my headlights. That deal costed $ 625 to fix. Hopefully this doesnt. Please help.
