About to Buy a C5

Howdy. I used to have a couple of C2 Corvettes 35 years ago. I loved the old 1965 coupes. One had the 365 hp small block and a close ratio 4 speed that could break the highway speed limit in first gear.
I sold them back in the 1980s because I just drove too fast.
Now I am an old fart and getting ready to buy a C5. They are so much car for the price it is unbelievable.
I can't wait to get a car but seem to have some trouble deciding on "the one."
Any advice about getting back in the game with a C5?

I just went through this after 25 years without a Corvette. I found a very nice C5 and you're right-it's a beast of a car for the money. I had trouble keeping it under 80 on the drive home. Other than wind noise, it's smooth and powerful. I went hunting for one with low miles that hopefully wasn't ragged out. 49k miles and we'll see what may pop up in the short term. Lots of deals out there, don't be pressured to rush.

Hello! you have excellent taste! the C-5 is a classic model an in my opinion, one of the nicest body styles made. I have a 2004 - the last year of the hidden headlights model. There are lots of choices out there, and finding one with low miles will not be easy now - but finding one that has been well maintained by a loving owner is definitely possible. Select the body style that speaks to you - that is the key! Good luck and happy driving!
