Hub cap install issue

Recently purchased new wheels for 1958 C1. After balance I am unable to install hubcaps with weights installed. How do you get around this issue?

Thanks

Welcome to the forums. A couple of options I can see, take the wheels back to the tire shop and have them reblance the wheels with the weights on the inside backside of the rim using the lead stick on tape. or place weight tape on the inside of the wheel cover the same amount of weight that's clipped on the tire rim. the tire cover would stay with that wheel.

I already tried that they stated they do not have the ability to do that. The balance machine requires weights on inboard and outboard side of the wheel. Not sure about weight on the hubcaps, have not seen that before, will look into that. Thanks.

Update. Checked the hubcaps, looks like a good flat surface with plenty of room for stick on weights, waiting for weights now. Good call thanks again.

I'm guessing the wheels must not be the same as the OEM stock wheels. I'm surprised they used what appears to be one single medium sized weight instead of splitting it and putting it several inches apart like we used to do with the old bubble bouncers.

Just looking at your pictures, it's not obvious to me where you're going to clip it on the hubcap that won't still interfere with the wheel. If you have to move it closer to the center of the hubcap, that is going to change the effect of the weight. Let us know how it works out. Good luck.
