New 2 forums, OLD to vettes LOL

Greetings to all, just came across the forums here recently and any chance to chat with other corvette nuts is a good place to hang out... My intro....born and raised in Chicago in my fathers body shop which specialized in 'glass, namely corvettes and other exotic fiberglass cars (FUN childhood) Needless to say I was pretty much born with fiberglass in my veins ( I know they aren't true fiberglass anymore :^( ) Anywho, my collection did not start until I got out of college at which time I got my hands on a '79 that had sat in a garage for about 6 years while its owner was on a permanent stay with the state of Florida! I had without question ALWAYS loved the C3 "coke bottle" body design as had my father so we were in heaven. Still have the car today and have recently begun chroming out the engine and re-doing the interior etc. It is red/red with T-tops although it was originally a silver car we found out after going through the building codes (looks better RED lol) My newest addition is a Ruby Red anniversary with FX3, automatic, performance gear ratios and was originally a LEASE vehicle LOL. With just shy of 180,000 miles the cars runs like bat out of hell and now thanks to an ignorant gravel truck driver that forget to secure his tailgate the vehicle has a complete fresh coat of paint, new windshield and glass top as well as new weatherstripping, unfortunately I won't get the car back until later this week...ugh 3 months and I can't wait !! That is my group, my father the corvette nut since they began making them has a 59' he has owned since April of '65, red/black convertible stick, he also has a Ruby Red all original with only 50,000 miles, and an 89' we bought wrecked at auction. He has had a ton of them over the years and they have all be soo much fun.

Anywho that is my brief intro, hope to catch some of you at the car shows....
Citrus county corvette show 03/25-26 see you there.

Welcome Tony, my childhood went similarly except without the shop. My dad had a 71 and a 62.

Welcome. No Corvettes in my childhood. My dad was an Oldsmobile man - loved those 425 c.i.d. Super 88s.

Welcome to the forum. I was introduced to Chevy by my uncle who is on his 3rd Camaro ('86 Iroc), but has always loved and wanted a Vette. Although he was not able to get one, I was able to buy my first one last year (which is the same one I have now). Anyhow, welcome and enjoy your stay.
