Site and Corvette "Newbie"

Just joined this morning and am New to the corvette site. I'v been a "car guy" for the past 50 years of my life and presently own a 73 Caprice convertible,67 Olds Cutlass convertible and an 83 Z28 "Crossfire".. I am presently gaining knowledge about 4th gen Corvettes as I seem to kinda like the 89 convertible .72 is probably my Favorite but the ones for sale......the owners seem to think that there is gold bullion under the seat.......I think that an 89 is reasonably priced and a good entry level Vette for me to start with. I would apperciate any.......comments,positive or negative on that particular model, Look forward to talking to some of you old vette owners.

Welcome to the forum.

Good luck on your search for your 89 convertible.

Thanks. I'v found quite a few 89's........but after more reading......Knowledge..........I do believe that a 96 with the LT4 would better fit my personality.........Whats your thinking on the choice ?

Probably a good choice but expect to pay a fair amount for one of those. ZR1s are a good choice also because they have become pretty affordable considering their rarity.

What do you know about the "LT5",supposedly a 375 HP that came out with the 1989's......??

Not sure but wasn't the LT5 in the '90 ZR-1?

I'm checking...........
