Deperatly need some help...
 

I trying to change out an alternator and the engine has a serp belt.
I can't get the tention to release. I loosened the torx bolt on the tentioner to no avail. I really need this taken care of ASAP. If any of y'all have any advice, I sure would appreciate it.
It's not on a Chevy, that's why I came here to off topic.

I've been on two other forums, forthe make of this vehicle, for the last two days. A few 'looky lues', but no help. [:@]

Hey Dave, hope I'm not too late to lend help. If the tensioner has a hex bolt or nut then you should be able to get a wrench or socket on it and turn it away from the belt. Some tensioner's have a square hole in the arm that the square drive of a ratchet will fit into. I fabricated a wrench for my boys Cavalier by cutting a socket to the length that would fit into the space and welded it to a flat stock handle.

Picture ofthe tensioner? I believe Buck Shot has you handled though. Unless the tensioner has a carrier bolt behind it. Is it on the 460? I don't have any that new to look at.

Might need to use one of them new Marlins on it,LOL!

Well, I got her out. Thanksa bunch.:)
The new alt is bad though, so I get to do it again. [:o]

Ya don't suppose, it has anything to do with being 'Made in Mexico'? [:@]

Don't get me started!!!! My blood pressure is high enough. sufice it to say I'd be a hangin' president and stock prices on rope would skyrocket and there'd be a lot of open seats in DC.
