How old were you when you bought your first vette?
 

I was just wondering how old everyone was when they bought their first vette and what year was it?

I bought my at 16 1/2 about a month after i got my license and it is a 74

I bought my 72 when I was 23 in 1975. Paid $3200.00 for it!! I now have about $55000.00 into it!

I purchased my first Vette when I was 22 in 2005, it was a 1998.

First ride wasin a brand new '58, at age 6. ( I was hooked ;))
First Vette, (only Vette),1980 L82, at age 52, in 2004.
Only took 46 years for the dream to come true. :D

I aquired my first vette on 7/16/06, I was 46. it is a 1987 L98 coupe. Not much, but fun to drive.

I purchased my 1969 convertible on March 15, 1974. I was 23 years old at the time.I traded my 1970 Monte Carloon it. My parents thought I was crazy to go down a year, and buy a two seat sports car. Still have it. Still love it!

It is great being young... I have had my car for just about 3 years and done a lot of work to it and i still got a lifetime ahead of me to get it perfect:D

I'm in the same boat as the rest of the old-timer's here, bought my '78 in 2004 at age 48. I think I stole this car for $2000, drove it onto the trailer, took it to by buddies' barn with a hoist, put brakes on it and have been driving it since. I work on sections of it at a time and drive between projects.

Ya, I didn't haggle over the price. I bought it from a family whose son was a work-mate of mine, when I mentioned one day that my son and I had stopped to look a Vette foe sale, he said "we have a Vette we want to get rid of". Right away I'm askin' about what's missing?, is the fiberglass all busted up?, motor and tranny still in the car?, bla-bla -bla. He said "oh, it's all there, we start it once in awhile but it needs brakes". So what's new about that?,I'll be down to your place tonight to look at it. Well it didn't take me long to hand over the cash, load it up, and I've been smilin' ever since.

I bought my first Vette just last October, 2007. I was 26 years old. Its my favorite car I ever owned.

I was 23 , My wife was 21 we purchasedour one year old 1967 corvette!
We still have it.

Bought my 96 vette March 8th of last year(I say bought, but it's on a loan), and just turned 19 yesterday:) I'm young and fairly healthy, but my mind isn't near as sharp as any of you guys:D

After a string of Caprices and Electras, I purchased my '81 January 25th, 2008 and I am 23, and in pure Clayton fashion, I only drove it about 4 times before pulling the engine. The paper plate expiredtwo days beforeI drove it to my buddies garages and started pulling it apart. I went to the BMV, applied for a title and plates, stuck the plates on the car, drove it to his house, pulled it up on the ramps, and its been there ever since :) Should be done if not this weekend, next week... as long as I don't discover anything else that needs fixed, although those control arm bushings are looking mighty crusty...

Got my 2002 ZO6 from an Audi dealership of all placesin June of 2007! I was 22, now 23 and I hope I still have itanother 23 years from now. It'll probably be in a big glass case by thensince the price of a gallon ofgas will more than likely be more expensive than open heart surgery...haha.
