Powder coating
Just purchased a powder coating gun and was wondering if anyone knows what the ideal temp and time in the oven would be. Powder manufacturers have their suggested time and temps but they are tested in controlled laboratory conditions. Don't have a lab. I know from dealing with polyester and vinyl ester resins and paints that the manufacturers specs are just a guideline as environmental conditions are hard to control. I'm wondering if anyone has personal experience concerning performance in uncontrolled environmental conditions. Cheers

RE: Powder coating
I understand that barametric pressure can effect the results, which is the same effect as altitude differences.
Ask a chef, altitude and barametric pressure effects cooking too! It becomes an art, all I can say, is practice.:) |

RE: Powder coating
Yup
I had a powder coating gun, and was going to do all kinds of good things with it. I never could get it down right. Mind you, it was a small gun, from Eastwood Co. but it sure was tricky trying to get it to work properly. I ended up selling it, and settled for good 'Ol paint. |
