First let me thank you for choosing my humble C3. I can't believe it won with the other two beautiful cars it was with. Little Sister, RJ's beautiful Silver fox of a C5 and Brother Topspeeds red hotC4 roadster. Both nicer cars.

Well...I guess Like most of us, I have always wanted a vette since I was just a snot nosed kid. I saw a SS sport wagon at a dealership that my Dad frequented and decided that I wanted one when I grew up.IAlmost had a 327/350 '67 roadster when I was 18 but I was $60.00 dollars shy of the $2500.00 the seller wanted and he wouldn't wait two more days....Bastard! Well ... I have two now but still haven't grown up, LOL!

The first vette I ever drove, or road in for that matter, is my '87 coupe. And that was in July of last year, '06. Owning one had never entered my mind after the '67, I guess I had convinced myself that I could never afford one. But......I went home for a "family reunion" in the great state of NY andhad takenmy first wife's diamond engagement ring, that she threw at me when she left me in '99, so I could try to sell it at the diamond exchange in NYC. Never made it to the city but the last day I was there my cousin asked if I would be interested in trading it for his '87 coupe...I said "Hell yah!!!!" ......Thanks Beeeaoch!!.....so.... that's how a acquired my first vette. After driving it 1150 miles home to TN., I was hooked and started looking for another. It didn't take long to find this great old girl. and I bought her in november of '06

Well The car is a '73 LS4 454 4 speed car. I acquired it from one of our own members here on CF. One of our treasured armed service men, a Marine, that had just returned home and lost interest in the project. I was more than happy to take it off his hands. It came with a 71 2 bolt block and sinceThe caris not original I decided to find a 4 bolt block and build it my way.
The block I found, came from afriends private salvage yard and he had removed it from an '87 pickup he had scrapped out. I had asked if he had any 4 bolt blocks and he showed me 4 and said he wanted to keep the three he had with aftermarket aluminum intakes but I could "have this old abused one with the cast iron manifold." I asked how much and he said "give me 100 bucks and you can have it." I gave him the cash right then and we loaded it in my truck.
Turns out after getting info, from some of our knowledgeable members here, on casting numbers and dates,it is a 4 bolt LS4 engine from a '73 vette, cool! What's the chances of that. It was shot so I just had to build it, +/- 600 hp,LOL!.(see "building a radical 454" thread)
The interior is deluxe and in pretty good shape for a car half it's age. The frame is clean and the front clip has been replaced with a "mako shark" flip nose. It has a complete set of period correct Crager SS spinner rims with nice fat skins on 'em.
Since the left rear quarter is messed up I amdoing some custom fiberglass body work. I know a little about fiberglass so it should be fun. Hopefully I will be able to complete it over the winter with all the great help I get here and I can't wait to fry the tires off of it.

Thanks again. Cheers, George(blueshark)
