I'm still not sure what happened. Almost looks like the guy just quit driving. I'd be pissed. The guy that got hit didn't seem like he should have been there either.

it looks like he was cutting the wheel, but either something went wrong with the steering, or the road was just too slick to make that turn...but thats an expensive car to be tearing up...

how odd, perhaps he had some sort of mechanical failure?

i would hope that a car that cost as much as that F50 would be able to take what little punishment it was being put through there.

RE: Ferrari + Guy on road = Not good

last summer when i was racing the car a bit, someone with an older vette asked me if i had ever taken mine on a road course, so i went to watch, to see what it was all about. they had a staggered start, and cars of every imaginable make...but there is still passing. i thought it seemed harmless, and right before i was going to register and pay to get on the track, some kid in a stripped out honda sideswiped an old porsche race car. it is my understand that insurance companies wont cover track accidents or damage, and i cant afford/ dont want to have to afford, to get my Z fixed because of some moron pushing too hard. this guy is a fine example of that

Good call, I wouldn't do it. Not until I have more money than sense!

ive seen something similar...but instead it was some poor little rich kid in a lotus who slid into an older ferrari...silver....there are tracks that when you go on the track...the car who went before you is about to finish...so there is no passing. so the only person who can screw up your car is you...no morons sliding into you!

hmmm. hopefully i wouldnt screw my car up either! i will hsve to try to find something like that when im ready to beat up my tires.

RE: Ferrari + Guy on road = Not good

i have been on a road course, and ESPECIALLY with a high powered RWD, it is very hard on the tires.

RE: Ferrari + Guy on road = Not good

i want to check into whether or not it would be cheaper for me to buy some cheap tires to have mounted to take to the track, and have my good tires dismounted/mounted when im done...or just take my chances with my good tires

RE: Ferrari + Guy on road = Not good

perhaps check around for some beatup Z06 wheels? or some regular beatup corvette wheels and just use them for the track??

I was thinking about doing the same thing. I've been trying to find some good wheel and tire package deals for that reason.

Sweet Lord! I was really impressed, though, with the camera person hangin' onto the camera like that, even though they were, uh, basically falling off a cliff an' all.....

Maybe the brake pedal is in a different place on those Ferarri's than it is on our 'Vette's. :D
