Killed an F-body!
 

On the way home from work a 97 Camaro hauled a** up behind me, pulled out beside me, slowed down, then nailed it again-did it twice. I let it go. When I got up to the light we were side by side.My windows were down and he yelled that he wanted to run. I told him it'd be a waste of his gas, I had an old Corvette and it was slow. He wanted to run anyway, saying-come on dog, it's a Corvette. I looked around, the Escort 8500 was quiet so I nodded. The light changed and I got a 3 car jump right outta the hole! He ended up a few lengths back then I got out of it then he flew by a few seconds later like a ricer does. At the next light his buddy was givin' him a hard time about losin', he turned and yelled across to me-hey dog, I thought you said your car was slow. So I smiled and said-well, it is a Vette! The mighty crossfire slayed the f-bodies LT-1 He woulda got me in the quarter but he'll never know it-the legend has begun! He'll be tellin' all his homies about the fast vette w/orange wheels now!

yes yes, and yes....its always a good feeling winning when you didnt even provoke the race. Well, it is a vette ;)

This may not be a good idea. I know i'm probably not the most welcome of people on a vette forum. And just to let you guys know. I think the C6 Z06 is the best bang for the buck car on the planet right now period, and when the new one comes out i'm definitely buying it. That being said I need to know why guys race for 200 ft and call it a kill? He got out on him, let off, and the guy came flying by. This happens to me also. I don't usually run from stop lights for this very reason. a few weeks ago I was next to a gt stang here next to my house, he indicated he wanted to run, so three beeps and we hit it. He pulls about 3-4 cars on me then lets out, I go flying by. The road we were on is a clear mile and a half to the next stop sign. When I told him I wanted to run again but all the way through the gears he said he had to get home. Well we met again at the track and I purposely lined up against him in the staging lanes. I heard him tell his boy who was with him that he killed that car on mission the other night, I just smiled knowing what was about to happen. He cut a 1.9 60 ft to my 2.6 and was out on me even further than on the street, but then third gear hits and my 510whp actually starts getting to the ground, and I pass him like he's standing still. His time 13.9 @ 100 my time 12.4 @ 127. My car is a full body full leather interior 4 door integra, that looks bone stock. I know I shouldn't brag about beating a stock mustang with the money that I have put into my car, but in my opinion its not a race unless you at least get into fourth gear. BTW before I get ripped on my 60ft time, I hafta let the car bog outta the hole on street tires, i'm a horrible driver and as yet not very good at feathering the throttle. so bogging is the best way for me to combat spinning. On slicks the car runs low 11's with 1.8 60ft's.

Nice ! Nothing gets up and goes like a corvette. Nothing under 100g's anyway.
