Hold down the option button (after pressing the reset button to clear any messages like your door is open or release handbraske before shifting) then press the fuel button 4 times. This will take you into diagnostic mode and gve you any fault codes. Then search the forum for the fault code to find out what these are to give you a clue. chargedvette02 08-01-2007, 11:34 PM Just clear the codes and if it goes away after you have driven it for a few days you are fine. gmaredd 08-02-2007, 11:53 AM Generally that warning light is only on because it is triggered by something in regards to your emissions. It probably is nothing to worry about and will most likely turn off on its own. Dave01 08-02-2007, 11:05 PM That could very well be the infamous air pump check valve that is located behind the intake manifold. I believe the most common failure is indicated by the P1416 code (Secondary Air Injection (AIR) System Bank 2.) pookie16 08-12-2007, 01:39 PM I have a 2001 Corvvette auto 52,000 miles. The car has been running great except I had to replace the tranmission and the rear end 2 months ago under warranty thank goodness. After driving nearly 25 miles one way yesterday the check engine light come on, car was running fine, still is, check the DIC and the code is P1870HC I can't seem to locate what this one means any ideas? 2K2 C5 08-12-2007, 03:10 PM ORIGINAL: pookie16 I have a 2001 Corvvette auto 52,000 miles. Thanks shadetree 08-24-2007, 01:39 PM There are many potential reasons for check engine light to come on. In my case, the quick fix was to clean K&N air filters, which I did and light went off. pookie16 08-24-2007, 03:23 PM Yes, we did that also and now light has gone out and been out for a week or more so I guess it worked.
