KING KONG ZO6 12-02-2005, 08:40 PM FUNNY YOU SAY THAT I HAVE A 2004AUDI S4 WITH NAV AND SIRIUS FOR SALE 3200 MILES KNOW ANY ONE MINT LOADED 6SPD Lee Willis 12-02-2005, 09:40 PM Wow, small world. Four months ago, I traded a 2004 Audi S4 (4.2 liter 340 HP) 6 speed in on my Porsche. I drove it for about 14 months and it was an okay car, except it got really poor fuel economy for a small sedan (and didn't need to, it just turned way to many RPMS in 6th gear. Every time I drove it, it impressed me with its torque and power, but I could not see out of it to the sides or rear very well, and there was something else about it I can't put my finger on -- it was not satisfying to drive. rgreger 07-04-2006, 04:16 AM I just purchased a 2006 C6 Coup without the Nav and wondered if it was possible to upgrade to the Nav unit. The sales guy told me that Chevy was going to release the Nav option for upgrading soon but couldn't give me any details. adibel658 07-04-2006, 02:31 PM yes nav can be installed after the fact. the dealer just needs to call there local delco radio supplier. nav disc is required thru gmnavdisc and the only other hookup needed is a vss signal thats in the harness wav399 11-16-2006, 06:22 AM any after market brands out there that would suit the car? BigJay 11-16-2006, 12:18 PM Good Morning; I posted about this concern as well. I recently purchased a left over 2006 C6 Velocity Yellow- The deal was INCREDIBLE. C6 Coupe, z51, 3LT...All for $49000. Brand new w/ premium paint- I thought all I wanted was z51, and Navigation... but would settled for 1 out of 2. The z51...WORTH EVERY PENNY. If the navigation was anything like the one in my Hemi 2006 Jeep... THEN I WANTED THAT TOO. But to order from dealer/locate this... Wouldn't make it the price I was getting the car for... Needless to say; I decided to buy the car LOADED minue Chrome Rims [:@] and Navigation:(. I do not regret it... But after posting on this board, speaking with GM Service, Technicians, and my friends in audio buisness ... This is what I have concluded: 1) The GM Unit will work perfectly, fit perfectly, be calibrated, and have little to NO issues if ordered/received from factory -BUILT that way. 2) The unit which runs as a $1600 option (?) will cost you anywhere from $2200-$2500 for the "oops" you didn't get. 3) The GM unit while EXCELLENT as a factory option... At that price the Avic Z1 by Pioneer is UNBELIEVABLE!!! You can get it on Ebay; however to still be able to use your door chimes, settings, etc... You will need an adapter (see crutchfield...$ 100?) You can get the AVIC-Z1 MSRP $2200 (ironic?) for about $1500 on ebay, and the $100 adapted on Crutchfield...$1600... Plus installation and you could be done for around $1800. The unit mounts flush with the dash so it doesn't look to "Fast n Furious" looking.. It looks OEM, but the screen is 7" and has MUCH MORE to offer than factory- That's what I am thinking of doing... after "Black Friday" I can justify this purchase by saying its a "holiday" gift for myself- LOL Hopefully I have helped?? Jay jtwillie 12-07-2006, 12:50 PM Big Jay,I read on the Pioneer website the features of the Avic-Z1 Nav unit you mentioned. It reads like a very nice piece of electronics. I hope that when you purchase yours and have it installed you will post a pic of the installed unit. I presently have a factory Nav unit in my Lexus, and the blue tooth feature is very nice to have. Cheers JT SilverSurfer 12-17-2006, 08:42 PM While still having my Saab, I was using the Garmin Nuvi 660 - an awesome unit. My C6 has the factory nav and I have grown to like it. It is true that the map resolution is not as detailed as the Garmin but I find it does a very good job. I particularly like the voice command features. |
