Help With Vintage Dual Quad Setup
I recently aquired a early Chevrolet dual duad setup. The guy I got it from received in in payment of a debt decades ago and said it had been sitting for a long time before he got it.
I believe this is a 1956 setup but am not sure. One piece that throws me off is the air cleaner. From the research I've done, the air cleaner on this setup is for 58-up dual quads. My guess is this setup was taken off a fullsize Chevy and later put in a Vette or hot rod and this air cleaner was used but that is just speculation.
The intake casting number is 3728725.
The front carb has a tag that reads: 3785554 3181S B4. The top portion of the carb has 6-1299 cast into it and the lower section has 0-049 cast into it. I don't see any numbers on the base.
The rear carb has a tag that reads: 3744004 2627S B5. The top portion of the carb has 6- with a plate pad after that. It also has 1098 stamped above the 6-. The bottom plate is cast 0-049. I don't see any numbers on the base.
I am trying to figure out exactly what I have. The setup is super clean with very nice coloring, etc. I will post pictures of the setup soon.
Any input would be greatly appreciated,
Jason
