RE: Rack and pinion
Get your front wheels in the air.
Turn them all the way to the lock.
Mark the line that the wheel is making.
Turn the steering wheel one complete turn.
Mark the new line the wheel makes.
Measure the angle of the difference in the lines.
Divide 360 by the angle of the wheel directions.
If the wheel turned 90', it would be a 4:1 steering ratio. It will probably be closer to 10 or 12 to 1. tho. ...

RE: Rack and pinion
But still,it's possible to upgrade from the standard ratio to the higher performance one....just switch the whole rack,if you have the means...it MAY depend on the year, but, well, you never know....some standard steering racks had a 2 and 3/4 turn of the wheel, while the sport had 2 1/4 turns, which of course meant a better response behind the wheel....you may have to upgrade a few parts, like tie rod boots, but,it's all up to you...good luck!!!!
