Default Leather wheel

The black leather steering wheel on my 87 vette is worn and discolored in places. The wheel is in very good shape and the worn areas are not rough, but very smooth. Is there a way to re-dye the wheel or polish and buff it like you would a leather shoe( my military days talking again)? I'd rather not have to foot the bill for a new wheel, if I can get the old one to look presentable. Thanks

I would first try a good leather cleaner and then a leather conditioner and see if that helps.

Many of the after market Corvette supplies offer dyes that work well on leather. Go to the web site for Corvette Central, Eckers, Corvette America or Mid America. They should have the dye you need.
