Default HEADERS FOR A BIG BLOCK

I am looking for exhaust for my 1965 Vette. I am putting a 502 in it and want to run headers and side pipes. DONT GET EXCITED, IT DIDN'T HAVE THE ORIGINAL MOTOR IN IT! My brother gave it to me and I am keeping it. Does anyone have any suggestions what to run? It is mind boggling when you try to figure what to put with what. Any help would be appreciated.

welcome to the site. You may want to look here www.shopheaders.com They have some good deals. Hooker, among others makes, side pipe headers for vettes with big blocks. Ebay has some good deals as well. I bought two pair on ebay for way less than new and they were in great shape. Good luck in your quest to build a monster.....they only way to go. Don't forget the wave. cheers

Just as important, if you're going with one of the betterbrands of headers, is the tube diameter and type of collector for what type/level of engine you build. You can talk to the techs @ Summit or JEGs for the best way to go. Sounds like you're building something pretty sharp and wouldn't want to get less for the same money.Good Luck.

The last somebody I knew who built a good 502 was a very good friend of mine, Mike Frugis, who put the motor in a '69 Nova SS. He bought the car from another friend, Tommy Caterino, who had blown up the 427 he built for it only a week prior. (A guy with alot of money who beat on the motor with only afew hours of running time on it.) Still alot of muscle cars around at that time. Brings back good memories. I wish only the best for your set-up.
