Default 1979 mystery wire

Can anyone tell me were this might go to? Comes off the wall. I'm slowly getting things working but when I find one thing I have another.

The tube you are holding with your fingers looks like a vacuum tube for the hvac system in the consul. The flared end hooks to a vacuum source on the rear of the engine. That would be my guess. The only vacuum switchs inside of the car are the hvac and headlights, and i think the headlight switch has its own vacuum tube up above the fuse panel. Do the vents inside of the car work correctly, floor, defrost and vents? If not that might be why, or someone ran another vacuum line and just left that one a dead end..

Much appreciate and no the vents stopped working all air goes to floor. The little possible hose I'm holding is on about 24" long so assuming came off something near just can't find to what. I'm not very mechanical but trying new to corvettes as well

Look at that tube close up it should be a small hollow tube for vacuum, the consul hvac switch may have issues. easy to check if you pull the consul right side cover you can see the vacuum control and its condition. Put that tube to a running engine or a vacuum source to check out the hvac controls..
