Default 1980 Coupe beefing up of automatic transmission

My 1980 is getting a Blue Print Engines 383Stroker and I need to better understand what I need to do with the transmission to handle the 400+HP that I am putting in.
Can someone chime in to help me understand the optimum mods to achieve a sporty light to light type driver but not a racecar?
TIA,
Ken

Look into a B&M Street/strip transmission. You can basically get one ready to go and set up for your application.

Welcome to the forms. Not knowing your budget, you can install a 2500 stall speed converter and a shift improver kit, would be mild impovement. Or Harleys idea the B&M transmission. I have the 700r in 77 Vette with 3.08 diff, It's a fun transmission on the street with a 3.06 first gear with a shift improver kit and 2500 stall converter. It's very quick from a dead stop. The 86 700r is said to be the best year.

Did you make a decision on the transmission? Lots of options.
