I found it very helpful to lower the column down on my '73 to get at that switch.

Thanks for the tip! |
Where do you guys typically order parts from? Seems most sites LOVE to charge high shipping unless over $150. Ecklers had everything in stock. Zip was out. Amazon had 2 items but also charge high shipping.

If you have a family member with Amazon Prime you can use their free shipping.

I have been buying a lot of parts off E-bay, I have been quite happy so far.
I forgot to mention that you may need to loosen the 2 nuts down at the firewall. Sorry about that. |

Ok so the clicking sound coming from the little silver box when I try to start the car is actually the Anti Theft Alarm Relay. I did some research last night and this morning. I had no idea these cars had this. It's located toward the seat side in the jack compartment. I get 3 beeps after I attempt to start the car and that box will click everytime I turn the key when it doesn't want to start. All dash lights work, door buzzer, courtesy light. I have a feeling this issue is going toward the anti theft system these cars have. Since the parts were quite cheap I'll still replace the junction box and ignition just to be sure but again it makes more since it might be the anti theft system. I believe the system is connected to the door ajar buttons if I read it right. Not sure if a switch is affecting that anti theft system or if the relay is intermittently going out. The car does have an alarm and a small remote box with 2 lights under the dash with a button on it that appears to be part of the alarm system. If you flick that box it blinks. It may blink because it detects movement. Or it's shorting out. Today if it doesn't start I'll flick the box and give it a try. The pics below are of the Anti Theft Alarm Relay near the jack compartment that clicks when the car doesn't start.

Well the number on that relay says it is an AC relay lol. Maybe that wasn't what was clicking. I have a long ways to go lol.
