69 Springs/ Shock combo
The 69 350-350 4-speed just rolled off the transporter last week and I've started the resto process. The car runs and drives ok (even the lights go up and down) but the suspension and bearings seem to be worn and just doesn't feel right.
The car sags on the drivers side. I'm looking to be back to original ride height and would like a somewhat soft ride. I don't plan on doing a lot of fast conering in this car (got the turbo racecar for that!), but I also don't want much body roll.
I want smooth, tight, with very little sway when I do hit the turns. I've been looking at Ecklers and wondered what the differnece between the 9 leaf and 7 leaf was. Also, what front rate would you guys recommend? Which shock brand/model is preferred based on what I'm trying to achieve? Will I need to go to a stiffer adjustable swaybar?
TIA for the help

I ran the gymkhana sway bars (1 1/8" front & 7/16" rear) with stock springs back in my autocross days. It had very little roll but still had acceptable ride on the street which was important then as it was my daily driver. I got a set ofVette Brakes GT springs for the front but haven't put them on yet as a friend put them on his 66 427 roadster and it rides like a truck. Now I'm considering a set of SharkBite coilovers.
I suspect a 7 leaf spring would ride very stiff. I know stiff springs reduce roll but ride rough. I'd try the bigger sway bars first, then if that's not enuf, go for the stiffer springs. Good luck.
