'71 dogging out on me
Hi everyone, i have a 71 coupe 350 auto, i live in PA and lately it has been getting colder. that being said three days ago my vette was running fine, now for some reason it runs fine until i stomp the pedal to open it up. When i do this the car spits and putters and sounds like it is going to die. When i let off the gas it goes back to running normal. im running a rochester qudrajet and it is brand new within the last 6 months. The only thing that i have done to the car recently was install a new gas tank. help.
thanks

Hi Steve, Happy Thanksgiving.
When you "Stomp" on the pedal the Accelerator pump adds some extra gas to the intake, see if the linkage fell off, if thats okay see if the accelerator pump is working, with the car in park and the brake on take off the air cleaner, start the car, let it idle an then move the linkage to rev it up you should see two streams of fuel being shot in, hope this helps, PG>
