72 numbers matching 454 4 speed just purchased

Found out in the middle of nowhere about 7 miles from home. Garage kept all its life. 2nd. owner had it 26 years. Dark blue with a black interior. Power windows and no AC. 75,000 miles with perfect chrome, body and interior. Owner said he paid $11,500.00 for it back in 82 and wanted to get $11,000.00. Then said he wouldsell for $10,000.00. Guess I did ok!New gas tank 5 years ago. All new calipers and a fresh set of wires, plugs, cap, rotor etc. and an oil change. I loaned my Corvette black book to someone. Can someone look up to see how many 454s were made in 72?Thanks!

Whatever the "blue book price" is for your new/old 'Vette, $10,000.00 is a really good price to pay for that car. You'll get your money back no problem if need be, which is "my question" to myself when I buy a used vehicle of any kind, "Can I get my money back on this deal if I want/need to, in a reasonable amount of time?" I've never (not bragging, but honestly) lost money on a used vehicle in my life. Ofcourse not considering new vehicles, as they're a loss when you take them off the lot. They're something that you have to get your "money's-worth" by driving, and enjoying a hopefullytrouble-free vehicle experience over a given amount of time, and then beable to get a reasonable resale amount in the end. So (IMO), the new/used vehicle situations are apples and oranges. Sure, you can "depreciate over time" etc. etc., but was the vehicle worth it "to you" in the end? Was it "hastle-free" or a "serious big hastle?" Vehicles can be a "nightmare" f/ the entire time you own them and still be financially justifiable. Anyway...
Only guessing, but I think that in time to come, even the later C3 'Vettes w/ "number matching big blocks" will be worth more and more as time goes on, due to the fact that GM isn't makingbig blocksanymore and they're in general getting harder and harder to find. Matching numbers, in the later C3's, aren't worth a "whole lot more", as performance engines were gone by then. But big blocks were just discontinued all together and I think for that reason they'll be worth more in the future.

"In spades..." Explain that, is it sarcasm? Or what?

It's just an expression of totality like if I said the KC Chiefs will be a bad football team this year and someone said "Yeah, in spades". It just means that they agree and my statement was probably an understatement.

So what I was saying was that big block sharks will appreciate and roadsters w/b at the top of the heap. Just look at what's happening to mid-years.

IDID read in the Corvette history book that in '69, the T-top started outselling the convertible. That is interesting to me. It stated that it was do to "cultural / social changes" in the USA. I personally think that the T-top version can't compare w/ a convertible. I wish mine was a convertible.
