10 Grand.... Thats what I paid for my 73 big block 25 years ago. My suggestion... hide it for a few years. That way the cops will have stopped looking for it!!! Hope you got a receipt... at that price it had to be stolen!

LOL Yes, I guess that the C3s are on the way up in price as they're getting older and alittle more scarce. Like you said, Wedge, 10 grand then and up to 10 grand now. And that's a good thing. I imagine they'll take a slower path up in price due to having the de-tuned motors of their era. I'd say that for resale value reasons, a C3 that LOOKS all stock and original, but has a healthy motor orcomplete drive tranew/ performance aftermarket components in it, a sleeper/with ONLY a performance motor and the rest of the car in original condition, I think the C3 would be a more desireable vehicle. I've said before, I hate getting blown-off by new pick-ups, or the likes. I'm supposed to be driving a 'Vette!!! At the same time, every time I drive my 'Vette, someone has something good to say about it. On Saturday, a young guy at the parts store gave it a compliment, a guy yelled, "That's a great lookin' car,"as I was driving down a side street in a residental neighborhood, and at a stop light, a guy in a newer (maybe 2 or 3 years old)red SS Camaro w/ a whistlingturbinein it rolled his window down and told me what a beautiful car my 'Vette is. I HAD to compliment him on his car as it was super clean, like a show-room car, w/ wheels and set up just right. Sounded like he had a stall-converter and rear end in it too when he took off. I just wish my C3 came from the factory w/ an engine that's performance was on the same level as it's appearance.

[align=left]De-tuned- de-schmooned... come on... its like your rating it with a 4 cylinder Vega or something. No doubt the 71 LS5, LS6 and earlier L88s all put up some massive numbers... but a LS4 is still a big block. Shave the heads to get 9.5... get a cam and go kick some butt. Thats what I did, but there is always that re-issue L88 or a 502 just waiting for a big enough check book to take 'er home...

Oh and BTW... look on the ProTeam Corvette lsite. They list a 72 454 alot higher than 10 grand. They appraised mine at 30g plus last year. Dude... you got THE deal of the century... the one that no one ever finds!
