79 heater hose route

Default 79 heater hose route

I recently purchased a 79 and the heater hose from the water pump is being pinched between the upper a arm and the bottom of the air compressor bracket -should the hose go through the bracket,around the front of the bracket,around the back,or is something srewed up or?????? nothing I can come up withseems very good at all ----thanx guys

Well, ya def want to move it. It's gonna get a hole worn in it if it stays where it is. I don't have the air compressor , so I really can't help with the routing.

Maybe this will help - this is my '79. I installed the brass 90* nipple to clear the fuel lines.

I do not have a good picture of that hose with the engine installed. I can tell you that it is a specific preformed hose and not just a straight length of hose that you cut to fit. Here is a picture with the engine out, not the best picture but better than nothing I guess. Oops - wrong side!

Hey deevee,thats what mine looks like(the hose pinched between the a-arm and the compressor bracket)but with the motor installed-I didn't know that it should be a preformed hose-maybe thats the answer-I love this forum stuff already!-I never dreamed I'd get replies that fast and even with pictures-thanx guys

I agree! These forums are an invaluable tool. 3 years ago I entered the world of C3 Corvettes and would have been totally lost if not for the power of the forums. So far I have had lots of help with technical questions and even had help with a problem vendor in Arizona!

Any time you need help! And if you can post a picture now and then....[sm=massbounce.gif]
