Purchased a rebuilt 3:54 posi unit and new 30 spline 80-81 4-spd/82 automatic yokes. Yokes will engage the spider gear splines but stops at the edge of the outer yoke bearings.
Tapped the yoke slightly by hand with a rag over the half shaft flange to see if it will slide over the bearings but seems to stop at the bearings.

Are the yokes suppose to slide easily over the bearings or does it need more of a persuasion with a wood block and a 3 lb hammer to tap them in ?
