Default air control shut off valve

Hey guys, I plugged in the tubing for the valve on the passenger side but don't know if there is also one on the drivers side. If so, how do you get to it? Thanks

None on driver's side. One on psgr side is for recirc. It opens and the one in the cowling closes allowing the air in the psgr compartment to be sucked back into the evaporator and recooled.

Hi again, are you talking about the heater core shut off valve? The one on the heater hoses? If so than there is only 1 shut off valvebut both hoses are on the same sideSome members have put one on each hose (one is 5/8 and the other is 3/4). PG.

I thought he was referring to the air valve door in the kick panel. Didn't think about the hose valve since mine doesn't have one. Put in manual valves.

Hi 73shark, good to hear from you! I'm not sure what J2 ment by "plugged the tubing".
Let me ask you, on your 73 do you mean that your car came with NO shut off valve for the heater? PG.

Correct. Not sure when they started that. My parts book says that '68-'70 and '75 on had it. Not sure what happened to '71-'74.

I thought he was referring to connecting the hose to the control valve in the psgr side kick panel. Or maybe as you suggested, he was talking about the heater water valve.

Hi again, my 74 had a vacuum control heat shut off which just went bad so after replaceing it with one from the parts store which was bad out of the box I gave up on the stock valve and installed a ball valve.
It's been 90* everyday here since May and I'm trying to keep my Vette cool with the A/C on. Found some info from Vettefixr about putting some butyl tape around the inner fender so that's this weeks project. I'll try anything to bring down the cockpit temps.

You realize that picture is with the outer fender removed.

Yes, that just shows the area to insulate, you get access thru the vent opening behind the kick panel that's why I'll need an apointment with my chiropractor after this job! PG.
