alignment

I'm going to align my 81 corvette in the near future and was wondering where i can find shims for the control arms and also is the rear adjustable? Not much of a thread starter but thanks for the help guys!

The shims are available at any tire and alignment shop. The rear also has adjusmets but without the proper alignment equipment, you would do well to take it to a shop. I set mine up by eyeball and then drove to the alignment shop. A four wheel alignment on a C3 runs about $45.00. Money well spent and you know that the job is done as close to factory spec as your vehicle will allow based on the condition of the suspension.

Don't want to rain on your parade but if the car has ever seen salt, the rear toe-in shims will be impossible to get out w/o sawing the bolt on each side of the trailing arm.

The rear camber is usually pretty easy to break loose and w/ a bubble protractor, can be a DIY project. Just be sure to re-torque the bolts to spec.

You got that right 73Shark, the first thing the shop asked me was how long have the trailing arm shims been in there. I told him there stainless and were just installed yesterday!
At that point he said OK we can do it. If they were in there for years forgetaboutit! Gotta love New Jersey mechanics!
