Sounds pricey in that rough condition, but then again, beauty is in the eye of the beholder!

Just the manifold, carbs, and air cleaner is in the $1,000s of dollars. But still $12K for a BBC roadster is pretty cheap if it's not a heap.

Well,I saw a tri-power set up for a BB, intake and carbs,they wanted 3,500 for it. [&o]
For 12Gs, it better come with it.
One of two factors come into play....

1. Do you really want a long term project to do?...or...

2. Would ya have the work done?

Don't want to discourage ya, but it's gonna take a pile of cash to put 'er back in shape, either way ya go.

IMHO, I think 12 Gs is pretty steep. [&:]

What year is it? Hard Top, or if a Vert, does it have both tops?
17 Gs can get ya a pretty nice C3. ;)

Although, as mentioned above,....beauty ( and value ) is in the eyes of the beholder.

My friend has the tri power manifold if anyone needs one.

Check out the sale price for this restored 68 tri power vert. Seems to me 12k is kind of low... dont care what it needs. There were only 1932 made, and no numbers posted on how many convertibles. Buy it, put it back in a barn, fix it, restore it... whatever. In my opinion get it and watch your investment grow. If it is real, dont let it get away.

$90,000... and Terry probably won't sell it for a penny less...

Heard a lot of bad stories about that outfit tho. May be a clone.

Personally... I think Terry is a #$%&^&* jerk... but as far as his vehicles go, they are the real thing. I brokered a sale to him on behalf of the family of a friend who passed that had a rather extensive Vette collection that included a 59, a 62, a couple of mid years ( a 67 427 tip-power vert) and a 78 pace edition with under 100 miles. His reps were nothing but thorough, respectful and knew what they were looking at. I seriously doubt that car is a clone... although 90k for a documented 68 427 does seem high... I'm sure you could go to Bloomington with that car, shine it up and go home with a large trophy for your shelf. Skip said his car is an IM code block with matching #s block. If that is true, it has some serious restoration potential.

And Skip... I was kidding about sharking it from you, but if you pass, PM me... I am interested! Really.... no kidding. Id sell a Harley for that...

I've got pictures, I'll post tonight...
I would be able to do all the work myself, so not a lot of money for labor....I might consider just flipping it also...I'll be back.... thanks !

O.K., I'm blind,....
A 68....[&:]
I stilll think that 12 Gs is a little high, but I'd nail it at 9. ;)

RE: barn find! 68 427 400hp

I was basing my opinion based on when he was operating as T. Michaelis back in the seventies. He was selling cars on consignment but sometimes wasn't giving the owner's some or all of their money. [:o] I think someone took him to court but don't remember the outcome but he did change the name of the company.

Also a couple different people locally inquired about specific cars and when they flew out to look at them, they weren't even close to as described.

Caveat emptor.

Shark...
[align=left]Im not saying he is an angel, and I dont believe people really change once they have been busted. I said I thought he is a jerk. That said, I based my opinion on the people he sent, the cars he bought from Mr. Sauls estate, and the way his reps presented themselves. I have never bought a car from him... I couldnt afford one!
That said, I still stand by what I said about Skips find. That is one hell of a car, original intake set up or not, and to find one living in a barn IMHO is damn near holy grail-ish. A 70 LS6 or a L88 of course would be better, but I would take a restorable 427 3 way anyday!
