Anybody know where to get some blue dots for the tailights on my '73?

 

Hi, I'm not sure what you mean by blue dots but www.DocRebuild.com offers part #2660309 as NOS so if a stock 73 came with blue dots mabye thats what you need.
I never heard of that before, is that a one year thing or is that custom?PG

 

Blue Dots, are used to give your tail lights the appearance of being purple, from a distance. They have been used on Hot Rods for many, many years, and are in the center of the tail light lenses. They are illeagal in some states.
I don't believe that you can buy the lenses with Blue Dots, they are something you have to install by cutting a hole in the lense and then glueing the "Dots" in place.

Sorry "Shark", I don't know where to get them.

 

J C Whiney has the blue dots. Punch up their website and enter blue dot in the search bar.

 

Thanks guys. mrggrm, Forgot about JC Whitney. That's probably one of a rew places to have them. I remember looking forward to going there with my older brother when I was a kid. they always had cool stuff like HO slotcars. he Bought potloads of them there. They are definately the place to get them only $6.99 a pair. What a country. thanks again got two sets comeing.

 

So.....Are you getting the "Dots", or do the lenses come with them installed?

 

Ordered the dots. you just have to drill the hole and put them in. they come with a little crome trim ring and a seal to hold them in. I found some old tail lights with themon ebay a while back.
