Default Car surges!

Please help me with my car before she gets sent to the chop shop!! I have an 82 C.E. with the dreaded Crossfire Injection. I just recently did a tune up on it thinking that might be the problem. Nope! She still surges if you are barely taking off. I drive this car easy as I have enough fast cars to satisfy my needs(who am I kidding!) You can floor this car from a stop and it doesn't have the pick up that I think it should have. It won't even break the tires loose. If anyone has any ideas please let me know. I enjoy this car but GRRRRR......... is that damn hesitation annoying.

Thanks in advance!
Brandon

Ya have an automajic tranny, right?
I had a 475 hp monster that wouldn't spin the tires unless I had it in neutral, and then slammed it into gear with the throttle down. I hate automajics. [:@]I think the tranny is the prob. She runs great other than the hesitation outa the hole, right? So now that I've had my rant, do ya feel the hesitation in the throttle responce or gettin' the power to the wheels.

So when you step on the gas, it bogs down for a second or so and then the power comes in? Could be timing or timing advance. I would check there first. Second thing to check on is gas filters and making sure that your injection system is clean, as well as checking the choke stuff. I haven't even looked at a crossfire in a while, but a half-open choke can bog down until the air starts flowing in.

bill.

Thanks for the info guys, and hell yeah its a stinking auto. If it wasn't an 82CE I would take the motor and tranny out of my 97Formy and have a blast! For the time being I will leave her stock. I do plan on putting some long tube headers and a "small" cam in it!! That should wake it up just a bit without taking too much from the value.
