Default Cowel Induction

Had my 74 for almost 6 years now and never knew that my cowel injection door never opened when I gave it the gas(actuator was dead)
My friend said he removed his door from his 75 and his Vet ran a lot better.
Anyway I removed the door and the actuator, took the Vet out and could not beleive the difference in power (like night and day)
Now I am getting the needed air the big 700cfm Holey needs.
I am betting I picked up 20hp

That's why they made it open at WOT due to the extra air. One of the first things I did was to take the door and solenoid out.

I think they should have left it out in the first place.

Shark,
Got one for you.
I keep getting oil on my manifold, it;s leaks through the manifold bolts.
Any ideas?

Good manifold gaskets and put some sealer on the bolt threads.

Think teflon pipe dope would work?

Might but I'd lean towards a good RTV sealer that would take the heat. Not sure if pipe dope would.
