Door weather stripping

Doors reguire to much force to latch following install of new weather stripping on my 74...any suggestions, or is this normal? complete resto near complete except inner door panels yet to install, doors shut fine prior to install of new rubbers.

RE: Door weather stripping

As long as the door alignment is acceptable, I would not be concerned. The new weatherstripping will need time to compress and conform to the car's contours.

Hey welcome to the Forum. Personally I have not replaced the weather striping on my 74 but mine lso requires a bit of force to get the door to close all the way. But I am sure someone else on here will be able to help you a little better

Hi shb3527, Happy New Year and welcome to the forum.Does it take the same force with the window down, if so then check the weatherstripping around the door, you may have to trim it a little.
If it closes better with the window down, then you can adjust the glass. PG.
