Default Drivers side wiper problem.

My drivers side wiper hits the"a" pillar, I found an adjustment near the wiper transmission but the slots are not long enough, are there any other adjustments or do I just have to drill out the slots to get the extra 1/4 of an inch?
Thanks, PG.

Check to see if you can re-position the wiper arm base on the wiper post. I have done that on other cars in the past.

Hi C3Starship, I looked the the 3 bolts that hold the wipers, that is still covered with 33 years of black tar or whatever GM put on there, but there does not appear to be any adjustment slots where it bolts to the car, but I'll take a closer look. Thanks, PG.

Actually pg, I'm reffering to where the wiper blade assmebly attaches to a post that turnsback and forth, and makes your wipers go back and forth. ( can't think of the name of the darn thing [&o] )
Does the problem wiper blade sit a little too high, ( uneven with the other one ), when they are at rest?

The whole wiper arm can be slid up and off of the fluted shaft, then moved a few degrees in either direction and reinstalled on the fluted shaft. A large screw driver or small lever type tool will aid in getting the arm off of the shaft. You may also need to bend the wiper arm ever so slightly to get your final adjustment just right.

You do NOT need to remove the 3 bolts at the base of the wiper arm shaft.

Thanks for the helpDV8, the fluted area is marked with a "KEY WAY" a slot that makes you put them on at only one position, I thought of that but no go.
I'm off tomorrow so I'll take a shot and drill out the slot. PG.

Maybe they're on the wrong sides.

That would be too easy, but I'll try it.

I believe the armsare curved in a way you cant put them on wrong. could it be the bladesare incorrect, maybe to long. if not a little twicking maybe in order.

That turned out to be an easy fix, I loosened the two nuts, then took off the top piece of metal, the slots were longer on one side than the other, I turned it around and put it back and now the wipers work correctly.

The original wipers were ANCO, there replacements hit the hood.
The TRICO 16-2 are low, just like the original.

Thanks for all the help, PG.
