Headrests for 69'
I've had the 69 for about 3 weeks now. I'm mostly doing suspension but while I go I'm doing some cosmetics as well. The seats have been recovered and I'm not sure if the headrests were never there or of they were just not re-installed after the covering. It feels like there is a slot for them under the current covering. I'd like to have some and wonderd where the best place to buy is. I will need the entire assemblies, shafts and all. Any suggestions?
Also, It appeared that thes seats were on the wrong side. The little hook type pieces that would normally be a guide for the shoulder harnesses were on the inside (towards the console) rather than the outside (towards the doors). After I looked at some other 69 interior pics I saw the pieces under the headrests on the inside where they initially were. Was that correct? My car only has lap belts now, did it have shoulder belts from the factory?
TIA from the newbie!

I've had my '69 for 33 years. If your shoulder harness hardware on the seat back seems to be on the wrong side [inside as opposed to the outside] the seats were installed wrong. Just move the seat from passenger's side to driver's side and passenger's side to driver's side. The seat back release **** on both seats is on the left side. Yes, the 69s had shoulder harnesses installed at the factory [coupes only]. You may have a little trouble finding the headrest assembly. They only came out for two years. There are plenty of places offering to recover but the assembly is much harder to find.
Thanks fellas for the help. I already switched the seats and then I saw the pic of the other car with them in the inside position and thought I may have made a mistake. Guess not.
In looking at my newly acquired Corvette black book, it shows the head rests as an option in 69. They were code 82 at a whopping cost of $17.95. The book shows all 38,762 cars came with them. I think I recall reading somewhere there was an option of taknig the 17.95 and using it elsewhere. In other words, they came on every car but not everyone had their car delivered that way. The book also shows option A85, custom shoulder belts, came standard on all coupes as was mentioned by mrggrm. I can't seem to find where the shoulder belts would attach. Any suggestions?
Thanks for the suppliers links. I've already spent about 1K at Ecklers. I keep telling my wife it's an "investment".
I really appreciate the help!

Sd951, if you still have the original seat belts in the car take a good look at the male connector on the seat belt. You'll see a slot in the metal with a hole in the middle. That's for the button on the shoulder harness to fit into. The seat belt and shoulder harness were not an integrated system. You had to latch your seat belt then pull down your shoulder harness and hook it into the seat belt.
