hey guys, how much is this worth?
Hi all, this is my first post. A relative passed away and left this Corvette in his driveway, so we drove it home and took ownership of it. From what ive learned, its a '75 with an '82 front end. The engine purrs and runs really smooth and quiet. The deceased relative's son felt like working on the car as a learning tool before we took ownership, so the door panels are removed and odds and ends are disconnected. The kid put a battery in it and didnt know which way the cables went, so when the first way didnt work, he switched them around and possibly fried something. I havent really gotten in the car to take a look to see if i could find the problem. The car ran perfect before the battery incident. Now the kid is living in Texas and hes not touching the Vette anymore. Theres nothing majorly wrong with the car, just a bunch of small stuff and the basic wear and tear dirty parts. So i have it sitting here in the driveway not doing anything and i want to sell it. I have no idea what its worth, so heres a few pictures to help everyone give me an idea. Also, any local help would be VERY appreciated.

Ugh. The kid should be flogged with a fanbelt.
In current condition, I would expect around $5k. Running, with the correct front and rear bumper setup and the pieces put back into place, it might bring $8-12k depending on the mileage.bill.
I concur with Bill's assessment. I is worth between $3,500.00 and $5,000.00 in it's present condition. That being said, it is really only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.
Thank you for the info fellas. I can put everything together, get it running, and get all the cosmetic stuff worked out, but im sure as heck not changing the front end
Is that a suicide door 63? Lincolin behind it? oh yeah...welcome to the site and why don't you want to keep the vette? Perhaps you will change your mind after you work on it some....then again.....
Good Luck with your new project. I swear that I will never tackle a C3 project car again. Everything is so packed in that you can't work on anything without disasembling entire sections of the car. It wasn't the disassembly that I minded. It was the times that I had to take things back off because of fitment problems. Put it on, take it off. Tweek it, put it on, take it off. Tweek it, put it on, take it off, you get the picture. But I do love the car now that it is almost finished. I should be able to finish it in about 10 or 15 hours if I get the time and it gets a little warmer.
I believe the rear end is also an '82. It's certainly not a '75. Also the outside mirrors are either not correct or are mounted incorrectly as they seem to be canted.
Have you checked the VIN to verify the model year?

Those are deffinetly not 75 mirrors, and the rear bumper cover is not 75 either
.It looks like yourrelative was doing what alot of us are doing, finishing it the way he wanted it
.You know if you work on it a little you could become attached to it and not to mention it was your relatives'so it could be a family airloom
. Imagine giving it to your son or grandson when your old and they take your license away
.(thats the only way they will get me to stop driving mine)Then again that still might not stop me(oops, did I say that out loud)[
