Default How do you fix center caps from falling off

Have a continuing problem on the left rear alloy wheel that the plastic center cap that press fits into the hole in the alloy wheel keeps falling off. I replace, and seems like with any big bump or sustained speed on interstate, I will find the cap has fallen off. THis is a 1980 Corvette and have not had this problem until the last year or so. Anybody have a suggested fix for this ??? I was thinking 2 sided tape but that may be too thick to get a snug fit on the wheel.......

I put mine on with a small bead of clear RTV. Carefully applied is virtually invisible, holds them on yet allows them to be removed at a later date w/o damage.
