Default I'm trying to find my dads old corvette

For years my dad has haunted me with stories of his old 1974 and 75 corvettes. I have his vin number for the 75 corvette and was wondering if there was any way i could use it to track the car's location or history report. The Vin number is 1z37t5s433307.

I'm pretty sure you could do a CarFax search using the VIN#. It should be able to tell you what state the car is currently located in.

I don't think Carfax is good for vehicles more than 10 years old. There are many ways to try to get the information but few that work. Usually it is people that have the car and they are trying to find the original or previous owners. Luck plays a very big part in the equation.
1. Check with the local and surrounding states DMV. Because of privacy acts many will not release this information. Some will.
2. Place some notices online here the Corvette Action center, Digital Corvettes, and any other Corvette forum you can find.
3.NCRS has a monthly publication called Driveline that has many of these ads. The ads are free for members so if you find a member ask him to post and ad for you. If you have any info re the car, papers, pictures, etc the current owner would jump at the cahnce to talk to you if he sees the notice.
4. Track the car from owner to owner. Start with your father. Who did he sell it to?

Thanks for the responses. The vin number for all the corvettes of that period were 13 characters long. And Car Fax dosent support any vin number less than 17 characters long. My dad sold his 75 corvette to a police officer when he pulled my dad over for not putting his tags on the car. This was of course after my dad added a shift kit, hooker headers and took off all the smog controlers. Kind of a funny story i think.

I may be able to help you here. I will follow up with you in a couple of days. I know someone with DMV access.
I will let you know.

That would be incredibly awesome dwhite. I'm sure if we were able to ever locate the car my dad would buy it back in a second.
