You might consider taking your stock seats to a good upholstery shop for recovering. They can play with the padding (bringing it up to date), and do whatever covers you want using your old seat covers as a pattern. Been there, done that. Basically, they can pop the stitching on your old seats, trace the outline of the seat cover panels on new materials, and then snip and sew. You can change the cover "pattern" a bit, add a couple curves and a little piping by just overlapping the tracing a bit. The covers will then fit right back on over top of your stock frame with fresh comfy padding. Adding lumbar is simple, a little extra room at that seam, and some chunks of padding glued in (as an example)...
