When you figure it all out, let me know. That's my eventual plan.

Default Lq9-1975

The LQ9 is no different than any other LS engine except the iron block. I wanted an iron block to keep my weight transfer similar to stock. Ive got everything figured except an affordable cure for relocating a/c compressor. Going with LS6 intake and accessory drive from an f-body. Water pump, brackets, etc. With headers I should be around 400hp and torque. Will post pics someday.

Default To 73shark

An LQ9 is a 6 liter iron LS engine that came in Cadillac escalade, silverado ss, and higher end denali's. Stock form has flat top pistons 346H.P. and 371ftlb. And I picked it up with 11,000mi for 3200 shipped!!!!!

I can't see why that engine wouldn't work in the 'Vette. That's always been the beauty of Chevrolets and GM products from way back, the fact that everything is pretty much interchangeable and bolts-up. (Even the 50s and 60s models pick-ups had that advantage, unlike the Fords that changed major components yearly. ie; my '62 Ford p/u's original 223 ci engine doesn't fit any other year, as the motor mounts (Ford) changed their location yearly on those trucks back then, not just on the frame, but also on the block. Unreal!) I'm betting that you'll beable to find brackets f/ everything you need from different year GM products and not have to use anything aftermarket. It may be just alittle more of a challenge w/ the tight engine compartment the C3 has. I have done a number of successful engine swaps over the years and interchanging GM items/components is one of the easiest there is. Best of luck w/ the project.
