matching numbers

is there any site on the web to check if the block number and vin match??? thnks for all th help..........

Ya got me there, but if you can get to your build sheet, good numbers info there.

The original block has a portion of the VIN stamped on the passenger side in front of the head. Now if the block has had some machine work done on it, the stamping may be removed. [:@]

Now there is the casting number and date code you can check to see if the block is correct and the date is close to your build date (like maybe a month or so ahead of it). There are books available detailing this info.

I know that www.mortec.com has an engine number data base. You can find out what year a certain block was produced. Other numbers' info too.
If I remember right , they show you where to look for numbers.
