new to this site
Hi Guys and Gals. Just found this site. I have a 71 BB that was originally a 454. Have had it for some time. I guess it is time to her back on the street.
A little history.
I got this car from a friend some 10 years ago. Has been sitting in the back of the shop since. i started digging out the parts to put her back together. Someone had put a 73 front Clip on her. Got rid of that and got the new 71 stuff in. I had to have the L88 hood, so got that too. ET build me a super 427 to be installed. I will wait until I pull the body off and get the frame done for that. The car is Black on black, Auto Trans, Ttop, A/C.Trying to decide what color I want her to be. I just had another friend offer me a 79 parts car so I will go get that later today.
I am looking forward to spending some time this winter working on her.

Where in Texas are you? I'm in Killeen,60 miles north of Austin and 50 south of Waco.
Good luck w/ the project over the winter. Today IS the last day of summer, and by the thickness of the cat's coat, looks like winter will set in early around here this year. My winter project will be going through my '62 Ford pick-up. I'm pulling the cab off (bed is already off), doing some reinforcement on the frame and installing "hydraulic suspension." Not wanting to make a dancer or hopper, only to lift and lay on the ground. I like the looks of a super low ride, and this way I can lift it when the lowness isn't practical (road conditions). With accumulators( nitrogen-filled canisters), it'll ride like a Caddy. I'm still keeping the straight axle in front and leaf springs all around, only having single main leafs made w/ reversed eyes. I installed a 9" rear about 13 years back and five lug hubs in the front. The truck is a three quarter ton (F-250) and had all one ton suspension (fatter body than the half ton) and the utility tool box bed. Was bought from a govt. auction as it was an Army engineer vehicle. Walt's Texaco got it at the auction, Jim Sharp, a local masonry contractor, bought it from Walt, and Jim Sharp sold it to me. It's a local fixture around here. LOL
Let me know where you are, possibly we can meet up sometime.
You are going to love this site. Great people here and always willing to help if you have tech questions. I don't get to post here often, but always check back when I can. Enjoy the site. [sm=groupwave.gif]
